Holiday Fun or Fear?

This is in response to the article How To Make A Holiday Less Scary:
My 2-year-old doesn't mind saying "Hi" to Santa Claus, but she told me she doesn't want to sit on his lap to tell him what she wants for Christmas. She still wants to stay close to Mommy. She also is scared of skeletons, but likes "happy witches" and "happy ghosts." She really likes the Easter Bunny, and can hardly wait to bake Valentine's cookies. Any ideas for making a holiday less scary for a child? What has and hasn't worked for you and your child? Please share your ideas here!
